The Belt Theatre Academy, an inclusive year-round program of youth and adult theatre instruction offering public performances and youth and adult workshops covering a range of topics.
The Academy writes and annually produces a signature play, Mine Tailings, representing the history and local personality of the Belt community.
Belt it Out, a monthly poetry and prose public reading series.
The Montana Valley Players, previously the Belt Valley Shakespeare Players, our regional, non-profit youth theater.

Artistic & Education Director
Jeff Ross is a writer, director, and educator. He taught English at Belt High School for 14 years. He received the 2016 Montana Teacher of Excellence from the National Council of Teachers of English. He is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor, Director of English Teaching with the University of Montana.
Jeff earned an AB from the University of California-Davis, and a Master of Integrated Arts and Education, a Master of Teaching English, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Montana.
He is the founder/director of the nationally recognized Belt Valley Shakespeare Players. The Players have been selected three times by the American High School Theatre Festival to perform at the Edinburgh festival Fringe in Scotland. Their third performance is scheduled to take place in 2024.
